Hot Off The Press! Brand New Work by Siris Hill
We’re excited to share with you two entirely new pieces by Siris Hill as part of a new collection of work titled “This War Of Mine”.
“This new collection visualises the physical and mental effects of PTSD from a personal perspective. I am exploring accounts of victims of war focusing on civilians, as well as historical pieces depicting certain conflicts whilst drawing from my own experiences of childhood trauma. I am continuing to use figures as a canvas for inner conflict.” - Siris Hill
Speaking about the first piece specifically,
“This piece features a rework of a 17th-century piece by Guercino titled ‘Samson captured by the Philistines’. I have redirected the original narrative of the biblical tale to describe the relationship of my mental and physical self and illness, both physical and mental.” - Siris Hill
